Well here it is. I’ve become a blogger.
But really this is to better chronicle my journey into electro-etching–an old-school industrial process that is finding new interest in the world of fine art printmaking. Here I will document my own experimentation, research, and development of this process.
A brief explanation:
Two metal plates, suspended in an electrolyte solution, create an electro-chemical reaction–when an electrical current is introduced to the mix–that replicates the etching action of traditional methods at the molecular level..without the dangerous chemicals, off-gassing, and waste.
In subsequent posts I will further describe the process, as well as the equipment created/used.
